Accomodation Types
On board, the cabins and all the public areas have been given a new, appealing design.
Cabins
All accommodations aboard MS Douro Queen are outside, and those on the upper deck feature a walk-on-balcony. The main deck cabins have large, non-opening panoramic windows. All cabins are approx. 15 m² in size (including balcony area with upper deck cabins) and have a shower/ WC, individually adjusted air conditioning, hairdryer, safe and satellite TV. Main deck aft cabins are approx. 14 m² in size. The cosily furnished cabins have beds arranged as doubles, but this can be changed on request. In front of cabins 100–107 and 300‑307 is a small landing in the cabin aisle with two steps.
NOTE: MS Douro Queen has a lift running between the lower and upper deck, and a stair lift between the upper deck and the sun deck.

Located on the lower deck, the charming restaurant offers a range of local Portuguese delicacies, or international dishes to suit all tastes, accompanied by fine wines from the world-famous grape-growing region through which you will be travelling.

The main deck is where you will find the passenger’s reception desk, the cruise director’s office, the lounge, the gift shop and the panorama salon with bar, offering live music in the evenings, or a comfortable spot to indulge in a good book.

Sun Deck
Taking advantage of the warm Portuguese weather, Douro Queen’s sun deck runs the length of the ship, offering a swimming pool for a refreshing dip, comfortable loungers for relaxation, as well as tables and chairs with the sunshade canopy.
Kids & Teens
Accommodation for a child is possible in a 3-bed-cabin (where available). Children up to and including 11 years of age are priced differently, please call our reservations team for a quote. Children must be accompanied by an adult over 18 years old and must be sharing the same cabin. Our river cruises are not generally suitable for children. There are no separate child-friendly entertainment programmes, childcare, toys, child seats or cribs offered for children on board. Children under 3 years of age are not allowed on board.
Useful Information
Dress Code
We recommend wearing smart casual clothing for the evening and smarter attire for the Gala Dinner. More relaxed attire can be worn during the day for sightseeing and general relaxation around the ship. It is recommended to wear non-slip shoes on the outside decks.

What's Included
In addition to the beautiful scenery, you will experience along the river, which can be enjoyed from the Sun Deck, we focus on our excursions programme. Included in your price are a range of included excursions which are highlighted on the individual itineraries. In addition, there are a variety of optional shore excursions which you can add to your sightseeing programme for an additional charge. These can be booked on board.
Our experienced Cruise Director is on hand to support you during your voyage. Guests can also enjoy evenings in the lounge with a cocktail and board games or a game of bingo. There is also a resident musician on-board.
Cabin Amenities

Smoking Policy
Smoking is only permitted on the outside deck (and on most ships only in the designated smoking areas). On all our ships, all interior areas such as restaurants, parlours, cabins, corridors, etc. are non-smoking areas.
Laundry Service
Due to their size, there are no laundry services available on our river ships.
Wi-Fi & Internet Access
We include WI-FI costs in the price of your cruise. This will be applicable to one registered device.
Disabled Facilities
Unfortunately, our river ships are not suitable for wheelchair users. The ships are comfortable as possible, but there will of course be staircases, as well as narrow doors and corridors. The entry over the predominantly narrow gangways is not always at ground level; it can also happen that ships lie “in a pack” and you will board via the sun deck and across several other ships to access your Nicko ship. In general, none of our river cruise ships are equipped for disabled guests. If you require specialised help, you must travel with a companion. Our crew is of course on hand to help; however, please bear in mind that our employees are nor trained caregivers and are not permitted to carry out any nursing activities.
Drinks Packages
A beverage package is included in the fare including:

Dietary Requirements
Suitable catering options will usually always be provided for you. If you have any specific dietary requirements or special meals, please notify us at the time of booking to ensure that we can cater for you.
Medical Facilities
A Doctor is present on board the nicko cruises ships on all 12,15 & 17-day Danube cruises to provide first aid in emergency situations. Doctors can also be accessed from ashore at short notice. Billing for the doctors’ services and if, applicable, medication that has been administered, is carried out on board.
Costs will very much depend on the service. Our prices are displayed on board, however, please be aware these can be quite expensive. If medical services are sort after from ashore, then costs will be subject to the local medical provider.
