Miami in style!

I was recently selected by Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines to join them on a trip of a lifetime to Miami.

I had an early start from Heathrow to meet the other lucky 14 agents also selected for this amazing trip and then boarded our BA flight. We were met on arrival in Miami with a luxury coach transfer, and with a glass of champagne in our hands, we made our way in style to the Loews Hotel on South Beach. The hotel was stunning and the perfect location for exploring Miami. Our hotel offered a beachfront location and was a short stroll from the famous Ocean Drive.

The next morning, we wake up to Black Friday, a day of shopping! After breakfast we met our coach transfer for our 45-minute drive to Sawgrass Mill Shopping Mall in Ft. Lauderdale. What can I say?!? Sawgrass was huge, with so many shops to choose from, top end designers to lower end and local shops, there was a really good selection for everyone.
After the shopping we made our way to our hotel to get ready for our luxury evening ahead. This evening we boarded a private luxury yacht and watched the sunset, whilst cruising along the coast of Miami. It was a fantastic experience and we danced to music and drank cocktails. We were then transferred to our restaurant for our evening meal at Crazy for you. The restaurant had stunning décor and was a lovely way to end our evening.

The following day we left our hotel and travelled to the Port at Ft. Lauderdale to embark Harmony of the Seas. The ship is very large, typically carrying around 5400 guests, however with its different neighbourhoods, it never feels overcrowded. Harmony of the seas is one of the Oasis class ships that Royal Caribbean have and currently the largest ship in the world until her sister arrives in 2019, Symphony of the seas.

Whilst onboard we enjoyed a tour of a few staterooms, including the beautiful Loft Suite, which is split over two levels and you go upstairs to bed. Our tour took us to the Royal Promenade, Theatre, Comedy Club and the Ice-skating Studio, before going up to Deck 15, where we could look down on Central Park. Out tour finished at the back of the ship which hosts the zip line, mini golf, flow rider and the Ultimate Abyss, a slide that takes you down to the boardwalk, 10 decks down, it was amazing! Lunch was held in Jamie’s Restaurant onboard, the food was delicious, very flavoursome and fresh. We returned back to the Loews Hotel late afternoon.

The next day was our last full day in Miami and a real highlight. I woke up early and thought I would take a walk along the beach, as I couldn’t go to Miami without seeing the glorious beach! I walked for around 30 minutes before I reached South Point Pier. The view from the pier looking back towards the hotel was beautiful and definitely worth the walk. Once I returned to the hotel we were transferred to Nikki Beach on Ocean Drive. Nikki Beach is a Beach Club with private cabanas, a fantastic restaurant and in the evening there is a nightclub on the 2nd floor. We enjoyed a delicious lunch and then were totally spoilt with the luxury of three cabanas for the group and large ice buckets with choice of drinks. The Champagne was flowing and the music was playing and we enjoyed a fantastic beach party. For our last evening we enjoyed a visit to a Mexican restaurant, Cantina La Veinte.

On my final day in Miami I visited the shops before heading to the airport and then my flight home. I spent the morning at 17th Street where the main shopping is, there were lots of restaurants and cafés with indoor and outdoor seating which were really nice. There was a good mix of shops and the majority still had their Black Friday Sale on. Macy’s department store was just off the main shopping road but easily found and I enjoyed looking around.

Overall it was an amazing four-nights away and I felt truly spoilt. Miami is a perfect place for a pre or post stay before a cruise from Miami or Ft. Lauderdale or as a short break.
